    Default F1 Midi Mode

    Hi,

I have created a two deck mapping for the F1 but I now can't control the remix decks. I was wondering if I could some how use the .tsi two deck mapping in midi mode so I can just press shift+browse and switch from controlling the decks to the remix decks?

Basically at the moment, I load my mapping and that's it, I have to reset Traktor if I want to use the remix decks.

    Thanks

    Elliott

    Hey,

Uhm yea this is possible pretty easy.
Did you make your own mapping in MIDI mode or USER mode?

Basicly you just put 2 controllers in your controller mapping.
So you press add for adding a controller then first search for traktor F1 DEFAULT.
Put the in/out ports to the corresponding F1.

    Then you press add again.
Now if you made your mapping in USER mode, you just search for F1 USER.
Put the in.out ports to the same as the default mapping.

If you made your mapping in MIDI then you press add generic MIDI.
And again set the in/out ports to the F1.

Now in your traktor settings, there's a tab called Kontrol F1.
In there you can set a checkbox for MIDI or USER mode.
Make sure the right 1 is selected.

If your not sure in wich mode you mapped, you can check it up very easily.
If your buttons have normal names like "cell 1" or "browse" etc. then your in USER mode.

If the buttons got names like CC001#0089 etc. then your mappings are in MIDI mode.

when all the right ports are selected and the F1 settings tab if set to the right mode, then you should be able to switch between those by using shift+browse.

    Hope this helped.
Love it when it all comes together.

Thanks for the reply Tada Tadam but my problem is that when I set Midi Mode to User I press shift+browse and it sets the controller to any mapping created in the controller editor (e.g. nothing) but if I select the default mapping and my custom mapping in Traktor it uses both at the same time. I want to set the mapping I made in Traktor to be a midi mapping. It seems like I am going to have to recreate it in the controller editor :/

Ill get back on this tonight, when I have some more time.
I'm sure we can figure it out since i'm running 2 F1's in USER, MIDI and DEFAULT mode.
In the meanwhile, could you send some pictures of your controller manager tab in your options (showing the list with controllers) etc?
You can also PM me if needed.

Yeah sure, thanks for all the help, if this is sorted it will give me a huge amount of possibilities with a limited range of kit.

This is my control manager window. The top F1 mapping is the remix deck, the second my custom one and the last is blank. The midi mapping if for my lpd8.

Ah now I see what the problem might be

The last 1 "traktor kontrol F1 default" is not really blank.
The default 1 is your standard remix deck, it shows no controls in that mapping because it is an hardwired setting, which basically means the controller is not running by MIDI but by the internal software of Traktor, you cannot change any control inside the default mode.

So the first "Traktor control F1 USER" can be deleted if it only holds remix deck mappings.
The second F1 user should now work when you press shift+browse.
If it doesn't check if the MIDI in/out ports of both your user and the default mode are set to your kontrol F1.

    Hope this helped.
