Default Does such a controller exist...

    Hi

Ok so I'm looking to start djing again after 10-11 years out of the game.

I mainly used vinyl before and still have my 1210s but now need a digital setup too.

I would basically like a pair of cdjs and nice mixer but can't really justify the price to my wife (or to myself to be honest) so.....

I'm looking for something but don't know if it even exists.

    Here's the criteria

    • I'd like a dj controller that you don't have to connect to a laptop, meaning you could just put a usb stick in and play the tunes from there.

    • Feel similar to pioneer cdjs, so when I play out I'll be able used to mixing on them.

    • have effects

    • not feel like a cheap build

Does anything like this exist??? Or are there cheaper cdjs now that feel the same as the industry standard ones in the clubs.

    Thanks

the XDJ-RX sounds like a winner to me ...stand alone, similar layout and workflow to cdj style, affordable,

For as the CDJ feel , i had the xdj-1000 for a few months next to my existing set-up...i did not like the build quality, plastic feel but then again i never touched the more expensive line so i cant compare..

Thanks I will check it out.

I just thought of another feature I'd like...

I'd like to be able to plug my turntables in so I could use the controller as a straight up mixer also.

I do to ask for much

You can plug turntables into the Pioneer XDJ-RX.

Personally I would wait until the Denon MCX 8000 is released. It has everything you are after and more and cheaper than the Pioneer.

for an easy crossover to the club environment the xdj is easier i think...same layout etc etc

    Denon MCX 8000.

You will still need a computer for that or the Pioneer though, just not while you're using it.
    Live rig: Denon Prime (5000M's)
Retired: Denon x1700, Denon SC3900's, Traktor, Technics SL1200's, my vinyl

What do you need the computer for?

And also I checked them both out and they look exactly what I'm looking for but they are both pricey.

Do they do a lot more than the Denon MC6000MK2 or Pioneer SR DJ

You will need the computer/laptop for preparing your tracks with rekordbox ,analyzing them so the wave forms are displayed on the xdj, but that is the same for all the cdj in the clubs, therefore the same universal method of working can come in handy, setting ceu points etc etc can also be done one the controller but also in rekordbox..
