Default A (potentially) great VCI-100SE mod, Shift Toggle Switch!

So I was looking at the VCI-100SE and something clicked in the head in regards to button which handles the Shift function.

Has anyone here ever used a DJ mixer with 2 way kill switches for the 3 band EQ?. In other words:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically this type of switch is used for either momentary EQ kills ("jabs") or immediate kills when moved in the upward position.

With this logic in mind, why can't the "Shift" function be assigned to a kill switch for the purposes of momentary adjustments, or constant adjustments when moved in the upward position?.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In place of a button, a wide "paddle" style toggle switch can be used which sits lowers in height than the EQ knobs (which would cut down damage done during transportation due to any protrusion).

    Thoughts?

that would be amazing. however, i think the shift button is designed to send one midi note. either the firmware would have to be rewritten or you would have to find two inputs on the controller to wire the switch into. (could maybe lose those small knobs at the top right).

very interesting idea id like to see someone take a stab at this.

Yeah I see what you're saying. Hmmm...

Wouldn't the switch technically just complete the "pulse" which sends the original midi note though?, I imagine that the "Momentary On" position simply puts a momentary "bridge" between the two end points in the switch which determine to send a MIDI signal or not.

yeah i guess your right, if traktor is set to toggle it cant tell the difference between switch positions. Not sure what i was thinking. this mod will keep me up at night. just a matter of soldering and mounting the switch to the case.

Same here, times like this, I wish I took an electronics and soldering class lol. I know someone here is gonna chime in though and shine light on it. Shit, I'd even pay them to perform this mod on mine.

i think the way the shift button is used atm in Ean's TSI, such a button would probably make more sense for stuff like the juggle, deck c/d and fader FX modes. or the shift button it self i would prefer a foot pedal mod. but yeah, seems like such "buttons" would create open up a lot of really effective use. i also like how they would be more "tactile".
