Best you can do now is accepting the fact that there won't be money to reimburse you (probably). Hotel and drinks are safe of course.

did you talk to soundcloud? i was recently at a programming conference in Berlin and they sponsored food and a DJ at the event. so it for a proper music thingi i would assume that they would be willing to step up as well. i know the conference organizer, so i might be able to get the contact setup.

they also sponsored prizes for at least one instance of laptopbattle, but I think MFC falls into a different category. but you never know until you try
