wait what ? no one sees the real potencial of this? its a sandalone unit. You are a touring DJ that DJ's on CDJ's DJM's already using recordbox. You put this little unit in your travling bag. siting waiting in a hotel room fire it up put in the USB thump you use at gigs play around. you back home hoock up the Aero to you home computer and can controll your Reckordbox withour the mouse set up you next set you want to play. You turn up at a club that has no recordbox compatable equiptment? no prob hook up the Aero stick in the Thump drive and rock away. Ohoo did I say all this is without even using WIFI. now add all the differant case uses when WIFI is used.
DJ setup 1 - Pioneer XDJ-Aero, Pioneer DDJ-SP1, Mixvibes Cross, Macbook Air 13", Pioneer HDJ 2000. DJ setup 2 - NI Kontrol F1, Z1, X1mkII, Traktor Pro2, Macbook Air 13", Pioneer HDJ 2000 w. NO LAPTOP REQUIRED at the gig people. That's a gamechanger. Load up the USB stick and go.

^ yes that is why...and i admit i do dread the price & moaned about it being 'gimmicky' before actually reading the specs.
but after understanding this is a standalone media player, my interest starts to build up...

You don't even need to load your USB stick, you can play directly from your mobile device and view waveforms, load tracks etc from the bigger screen.

Yes i'm psyched about the potential if you haven't guessed espessially on whatever pro-range they are working on.

definitely and interesting concept, and im gonna watch this tech grow and expand and probably effect the way we all dj, but for the price of it I just can't convince myself when im already working on my second setup. It looks like a more serious Ergo, and it will probably be pretty successful.

Guys, the marketing idea behind this is multi-faceted.

It's meant as a backup system for guys that use rekordbox on 2000's.
It's also meant for kids who don't know what they're doing, who will buy it for the gimmick.

Personally, I think the design is terrible, and the wifi idea is just gimicky and stupid, but the idea of an all-in-one standalone system for people that already use rekordbox, is a good one.

That being said... Standalone all-in one's have always looked like the dorkiest gear option in the world to me when they're on stage. WAYYY worse than having a laptop and an all-in-one controller. It literally looks like you're up there using a toy.... I always think of those silly twin ipod DJ things.

I don't predict this product doing very well, but it is a good idea as a backup system for guys who tour and use 2000's with rekordbox.

Yes, $1000 is slightly overpriced. I'd put this at $800. $700 if it didn't have the stupid wireless gimmick.

wow if this was priced a bit cheaper (and replaceable crossfaders) we might have a winner!

There's some irony in it, isn't it?
The NI trio - Traktor Kontrol S4 - Maschine - Komplete - and some more gear...

I personally like it a lot. I have an S2 and don't like really playing out with it. I have 2000s and prefer playing out with those if possible.

To me the no laptop, no cds thing is awesome. This thing and a USB drive and you are set. If you want to hook up a laptop you, if not you can actually just beat match off a thumb drive. Depending how well the wireless thing works it could go over really well. I mean I'm sure you just upload the track in to the device, and once its stored in the internal memory playback is fine.

To me it would be awesome if it let you wireless create a playlist that is uploaded into the controller, as one track finishes the other uploads so download times over wi-fi are minimal. I personally like it a lot. I was considering a VCI-400, but this takes the cake to me.
