Depends- using Traktor Pro would be fine, my old MBP is using only 2 USB-Ports as well, but I think the Core2Duo on it wouldn't be good enough to run Maschine at the same time. This way I can use VSTs and have an additional screen. Plus, I can use 4 decks+Loop-Recorder AND have an additional dedicated channel for Maschine.
Next week I'll get a version of Traktor Scratch Duo which makes me eligible to upgrade to TSP2, so I 'could' add CDJs or 1210s for scratching etc.
But as stated earlier, I'm not much of a scratcher, so while keeping the option open, I don't think I'll take it anytime soon.
I mix stuff on my things...
Everything I need / Nothing I don't.
Classy MIDI mixer.
Its an x-session pro by the looks of it, internal autogain ?

Yes and yes. Traktor seems to do a pretty good job setting the auto-gain on my tracks so any shifts in volume I simply use the up-faders. The X-Session's silver knobs are my Hi/Low/Filter with the black knobs being used as super knobs for various multi-parameter/combo effect changes. The buttons at the bottom I use for back-and-forth beatjumps (-/+ 4 for the small and -/+ 16 for the large) for quick track position adjustments.
The pots had a terrible wiggle and the knobs felt super cheap so I tightened the holes with strips of wax paper and used guitar pedal knobs instead. Instant improvement with no wiggle, a desirable amount of added turning resistance, and better material feel. Oh and I do plan on replacing the fader caps with quality black ones. (BTW: Any website suggestions for those? All I can find are $5 a cap.)
The X1 is mostly standard map and is used for cueing/single effects/looping/track scrubbing/etc. I previously owned an S4 but due to financial issues had to downgrade to this setup, however, it has been a lot better than I would have expected coming from a much more involved piece of gear.
