whenever i get troubles that bad... i just reformat... hopefully.. all your important stuff is on a seperate partition or hdd

You dont need to uninstall Mac drivers the Audio 8 will always see the latest drivers which are always the right ones.
Did you check the Audio 8 Settings Tool to see if you have USB Streaming Errors (shouldnt really matter).
Is the Audio 8 assigned in Mac/Sound Preferences and working at all?
Have you install any other 3rd party audio drivers that may be conflicting.
Can you try the Audio 8 and the drivers on another machine to see if it works on there. If it does then you have sofware issues on your Mac . If it doesnt your Audio 8 is buggered and you should have it replaced by NI.
