I hear that mate same shit everywhere which is the main reason hell of a lot of DJ's/Producers etc launch their own labels. That said I remember one of the best record shops I came across in Holland (Rare Records) had great prices and was into cutting white labels with various people, similar to what Kinetec and Plastic Fantastic did in London. A mate of mine was doing a lot of that stuff said it was an even Steven 50-50 on sales.... good old happy days before Beatport and all that jazz pissed all over the market...
Right now I'm in Greece and have attempted to buy a number of tracks from sites like Beatport only to be spat at with a "Territorial Restriction", i.e wont be available in Greece until the rest of Europe has rinsed the track. that just ain't cricket, and that is why I almost flat down refuse to buy from those types of shops, might as well rip it from vinyl, remaster it and as a bonus get to keep a bit of that lovely RIAA preamp sound![]()
