But I think downloading illegal stuff is purely caused by the record companies and distributors. Therefor I buy straight from the artists when possible.

when I look at the $$ per sold CD what an artist earns here in Holland it is ridiculous. Almost 90% is for the companies in between artist and shop.
I hear that mate same shit everywhere which is the main reason hell of a lot of DJ's/Producers etc launch their own labels. That said I remember one of the best record shops I came across in Holland (Rare Records) had great prices and was into cutting white labels with various people, similar to what Kinetec and Plastic Fantastic did in London. A mate of mine was doing a lot of that stuff said it was an even Steven 50-50 on sales.... good old happy days before Beatport and all that jazz pissed all over the market...

Right now I'm in Greece and have attempted to buy a number of tracks from sites like Beatport only to be spat at with a "Territorial Restriction", i.e wont be available in Greece until the rest of Europe has rinsed the track. that just ain't cricket, and that is why I almost flat down refuse to buy from those types of shops, might as well rip it from vinyl, remaster it and as a bonus get to keep a bit of that lovely RIAA preamp sound

Unfortunately Rare Records did not survive 2008, they went bankrupt
One of the best shops I ever encountered...

I noticed the territorial thingy too! What a crap!
so every one else can play that certain record except me!

In these cases I go to mp3skyline.com to get it. I dont mind paying but I do mind territorial restrictions.

Rare Records is gone? that really is sad to hear... I found the Breaks remix of Bomb da Bass Darkeheart in there among other gems...

I buy records from Juno Records, HTFR and Chemical Records mainly, additionally from great labels (Kompakt and M_NUS are exceptional) and occasionally from artists, GusGus, Polder, Minilogue etc. I completely agree, I'm much more than hqppy to shell out cash for music but not this territorial restriction rubbish, I prefer to go elsewhere than put up with that.

Here is my question. Of all those sites that Alien2K mentioned, which offer 320 kbps? Besides Beatport obviously.
