    well, your 500 is only 3 channels, so 4 deck external mixing is kinda out the window.

    The X1 does not have a soundcard, and has a lot less controls than the 2d. It also comes in at 1/3 the price of the 2d.

    i couldn't use the mic/line as the 4th? 3 is okay for now too if that's what it is. and with the 2D i can pretty much mix right on that correct? the sliders would control the volume sliders right?

    i'm pretty much looking to be able to play and record. if i can mix tracks together without using my external mixer...cool. but i want to be able to mix the tracks physically without touching my laptop. so play, record and mix without touching the laptop is my main goal. i'm thinking that the 2D is the best option for that.

    i was hoping to stay under $500. if i can be under $800 that would be great. really don't want to go over $1000.
