Default Pro X Fader, getting it to be ultra smooth

Threw a Pro X Fader into my VCI last night. I got a sick deal as my friend and I bought the last two at a store here in town (Montreal seems to love Inno Faders and wont touch a Pro X, their loss).

I followed the DJTT tutorial and it went in without a hitch. But now I would like to get a super silky, light feel out of it. It will of course break in over time, but is there anything I can do to help it? I already removed the set screw for the friction adjust.

    Thanks, Phil.

Caig oil? You took out the screw? Hmm, I don't think it'll get any lighter than that, unless there's dirt and grit in there. Mine still has a tiny bit of friction at a very minimal setting, so it may just be the feel of the fader. I don't know what youre looking for tho - I don't like things so loose that you bump the vci and the fader goes flying...

The feel of the fader is awesome. What I was looking for was if someone had ideas on ways they have tweeked it while I still had the case open.

For anyone thinking about this mod it is a real no-brainer, the feel of the fader after is incomparable to the stock unit. Almost like putting the Arcade buttons on.

My only small deviation to the article on the main page was to swap the left and right wires as I wanted the adjustments toward the back of the VCI and that I used heatshrink on the wires to fix them to the fader pins.

If anybody was thinking about doing this and intimidated by modding, rest assured, if you can disassemble the VCI to get to the fader, you have all the skills necessary to accomplish this mod.

    Happy X-fading, Phil.
