Offical Traktor Controller
Hello everybody, I wanted to start this thread after I read a small artical on the web:-
http://www.thebreakdown.co.uk/2010/0...x2-or-even-x4/
I have been using Traktor Pro for a few months now with only my keyboard and mouse and realise that I need some sort of midi controller a.s.a.p to reap the rewards of the program. I have read reviews for 100's of various controllers out there and they all have major benifits and disadvantages from each other. All users have different issues from whether you can controll all 4 decks at once, full control for the hotcues, touch sensative jogs, etc. I like the X1 controller but you still need some sort of controller or mixer along side it. I have also seen the vid of NI's Machine and how that works with the offical Traktor map and that seems to work very well with it's digital display working in conjunction as well but Machine was designed for production. I would love to be patiant enough to see if NI do release a home made controller and i guess that would happen when they next make a major overhaul as they did from Traktor 3 to Pro.
I was seriously considering Akai's APC40 for Traktor as I love the hotcues and loops and it's clip launch pads would be ideal for mapping for use with this. The only problem is that it was made for Ableton and mapping seems to be a bit of an ordeal to get the units led's to work (i have read all of the threads on this subject). This consideration has gone on standby for the moment as I'm waiting for the release and review of American Audio's VMS4 as that unit seems a step closer to a universal appeal for a dedicated Traktor controller.
What would all you peeps out there like to see on an offical NI Traktor controller?

its inevitable... of course they will come out with something cooler, maybe next year, maybe even this year... just gonna take time. They need people to waste money buying these up, then offer the next controller at the same great value, then people will buy those up. Its just like what Apple does. Its smart. Create a huge demand around something very cool, new, and innovative. Then get people to buy this thing so much that it becomes something that s backordered, then later down the raod when it all running smoothly and the supply catches up witht he demand, wait a little bit then release the next new cool model, similar to the first but witht he cool new features you think you need!
i am sure I will love whatever they come up with next, and i will be right there when its released! I really like the X1...
