i just hope people reading this thread don't think we are a bunch of haters. I think its the marketing tone and feel of her presentation....which is a good word for what she is doing over say that serato and ipad video.

this is one of those things where you wish you could view and critique the video without adding to the total number of view. we inflate her sense of celebrity with every view.

i think its plain wrong for her to say that setup is a good buy.

even if you exclude going digital (and all the controllers you could get for 1065 (65 being that numark mixer muhahahahahah)

a setup like two Denon DNS1200s (app $350) plus $365 mixer of your choice, is so much better suited for someone getting into djing. the dns1200s are very versatile

I think it's ok to hate once in a while. We can't always be seen as a bunch of happy-go-lucky fairy's all our lives. If everything everybody did was responded with "well at least she's being creative", shit would spiral out of (quality) control. But I agree, it's the way she presents herself that I think is fucking everybody off.

I'm devastated. I at least thought the first person to really show off the ipad in a DJing capacity would have even a modicum of sense, and hopefully a tad less of the arrogant naivety. It's just depressing! Ok, she might be giving digital DJing a bad rep for some people, but at the end of the day she's rubbish anyway and not even slightly innovative.

Just makes me want to practice more, and come up with something original.

Which reminds me, no-one's called them self 'the world's first arcade button DJ' yet have they? I might just steal that one, and when I go viral, I can justify charging for my mixtapes. Nice one Rana.

Oh and as a side note, I just realised; She said the cost of 2 ipads, a mixer, a sound card and a macbook pro is cheaper than a serato setup with CDJ's. That may be so, but you don't have to take the 2 CDJ's to a gig with you as if it's any reputable club they'll already have them there. So that means instead of carrying 2 timecode CD's (plus the shit that's required in both setups), she's carrying the weight of nearly 2 extra laptops, plus she'll have about $2500 worth gear in her bag whereas the serato option will probably be about $1000 dollars less. Plus if timecode CD's get lost or damaged they cost about 30¢ to replace, ipads $500.
But putting all that aside, why the fuck is she worrying about cost, she makes bank!

Ironically, you need a computer to run an ipad anyway, and for the cost of 2 ipads you can get a new macbook pro. She's a total mong - and I'm only just beginning to really hate her personally. Initially, I just felt sorry for her, but I can't believe just how out of her depth she is.

I was gonna suggest everyone think of something to say instead of ipad; "I'm the first '.......' DJ in the world". For example, I could stand there naked with a cowboy hat and a pair of aviators and say "I think I'm the first naked cowboy dj in world", then start spinning. Then someone else can say "I think I'm the first (what ever DJ) in the world". And so on, until we have enough to string them all together and make a fucking ridiculously long video like hers. I dunno, something along those lines anyway. Or something along the lines of that dick head ipod DJ video Ean posted up on April fools day springs to mind.
