    DVS all the way.
10 years ago i would have hated myself for saying that but DVS is just a whole lot cheaper in the long run.

Ive got crates and crates and (you get the picture) and im still addicted to vinyl but i just cant bring myself to spend £10 on a 12" for one track anymore.

I did that for a long time and ive got some records that i cherish but i broke the circle with Traktor Scratch and i aint going back .

A Vinyl habit is nearly as bad as a crack habit. (not really in fact nothing like it but ...)

    Go TSP man.

    @ sj03w4t

What sort of tech house do you listen then? It is true that tech house doesn't have that long build ups but that is the power of it. A nice groove and no nonsense and being cool with breaks where u wave ur lighter or something. Check out artists like Steve Lawler or from our own country: Anton Pieete, DJ Madskillz etc...
Macbook Pro, VCI-100 FW 1.3, Traktor Pro, Audio 2 DJ

It's all about the house music, and it always will be.

i used to like trance... then after a while i got bored with it quite quickly cuz to be honest it all sounds the same.... well to me anyway

*ducks the chairs been thrown at him*

    each to their own

Anyway... back on topic - both genres are just as mixable as the other, you can do the same intense levels of mixes with both genres.

    WARNING RANT BELOW:
I remember a time when this was a much easier decision to make. Techno, house, trance they all sounded different and weren't picked apart to 147 different genre's.

    RANT OVER:
Your thinking about it to much, play what you like. Once you start playing out you'll develop a following that is full of people that like what you like. They'll come to hear the music you spin because they like the way you mix the genre's, or at least that should be your goal.

I agree, there is so much music these days that it is just incredibly hard to pick out good tunes, let alone a whole crate of good stuff. On the other hand, these amounts of tracks help make dj's unique

Why not play both tech house and trance? Just build up a good collection of each and if tech house isn't rocking a party try trance. This makes you a lot more versatile and keeping updated on two genres isn't hard at all. I play Breaks, Dubstep, Glitch Hop, Electro and mid tempo bangers.
Setup: Kontrol S2, Komplete Audio 6, Maschine Mikro Akai LPD 8, Akai Mpk49, Traktor 2, Ableton Suite 8.
