I have a nanopad and it works perfectly for what I do with it ... which is leave it in a corner collecting dustThe pads kinda suck and the X-Y pad is pretty useless; for $30 more you get a Trigger Finger with more pads plus faders AND knobs. If you like the form factor of the nanopad go with the Akais; the build quality is much better and your pads won't wear out.
Or better yet, save a few more shekels and get yourself a MIDI Fighter!!
I would steer away from the nanoKey. I have one and it's pretty meh.
IMO either wait for the next batch of midiFighters, or get one of the Akai MPD controllers.
The ones with a 4x4 grid of pads and a bunch of knobs/faders on them. They're quite boss.s
I'm not good at things, but I like to pretend I am.
:Project-Segfault:
The akai LPK, is not as solid as the LPD, but, its still great. Velocity weighted keys, a little plasticy, but still solid.
Latest Mix: dubstep mini mix
I have two black korg nanoKontrols with 1 month of age, they are awesome
I use one as my internal mixer and the other as FX/Looping
It's perfect!
In addition to these I use the Oxygen Keys for trigger FX and Cue Points and some mixing functions as pitch bend, bpm matching, syncing, duplicating decks...
$60 and $90 as I recall (USD). But I think the trigger finger was on sale? I don't remember, it's a few years ago but it was probably a Guitar Center floor model -- I'm lookin on google shopping now and these things are $150+. So forget my comment about them being comparable in price, lol....
solved my dodgy pad issue, was plugging it in during my laptops boot (out of laziness) as i have it set to boot straight through to TPro, plug in it after traktor load, all is good.
