I'm halfway through this process - bought a pair of 1210s and TSP to augment my VCI100 (essentially I want to learn to scratch properly, and due in part to tiny platter vs massive sausage fingers I'm having a really hard time on the VCI)

I can still do a solely VCI100 gig, or I can wire up the entire 2 turntables and a VCI and go a bit mental ...

I bought them new, $200 a piece, then i bought a pair of shure m44 7 cartridges to go with them, for $70 a piece.

It has good strong torque and feel great for scratching, from what I read, they are the reccomended decks for beginners that most closely resemble a pair of technics, i'd say go with them...

NOO!!!!! Where are you gonna stick your Dicers???

Seriously - if you're going the TT route, I'd say take back the TT200's and get ONE 1200/1210. You really don't need two decks with the software we've got today. Just throw a track in on Deck A (which you will control with timecode vinyl), then, once it's playing, hit instant double to switch that track over to Deck B and cross fade over to Deck B - freeing up Deck A again (the timecode deck) for some scratching, or mixing in the next tune.

    Rinse, and repeat!

Seriously - there is no need to have 2 decks... (Although, I have 2 1200's and wouldn't get rid of 'em...)

Yeah, ive read much about 1210's being better than everything else out there. This is what my heart is telling me, but my wallet still doesnt like the idea.

The switching decks in traktor to only use one timecode seems like a reasonable idea. Do you not get confused as to what's doing what sometimes though?

i know what you mean about the wallet, my bank account is looking mighty shitty at the moment, but if your gonna do this, i would go with scratch duo, it has all the essential features of pro you need (at least me)

as for the confusion, i guess so, sometimes i'll hit a button on the deck on the computer screen (for example, the play button) and the record will still be spinning, but the music will stop, there's a quick easy fix, but i'm still getting used to the turntable part of it, all in all, i'm in love! haha
