    Good thread!

I hate gigs on a Sunday as I have to go to work on Monday (like, er, tomorrow).

My setup is very simple and ain't going to change - VCI-300, MacBookPro & VFX-1. Admittedly not cheap but a few gigs and it's paid for.

You're right, computing and DJing go hand in hand. I was a career DJ for many years (promoting and DJing for a living), but now I'm working in a web agency doing marketing, and there's a few of us DJs in our very company, all digital I might add.
I blog at: Digital DJ Tips and I'm on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook

You'd think so, but you'd be surprised. Most places, especially with the economy, can pick and choose overqualified candidates. That little piece of paper saying you spent 4 years of crap, or being a veteran, are steps in the door.

It's all a big money scam imo.

I don't have a degree, I have to rely on a stack of Associated Press photography awards to get me in the door.

Yup, I have a good gig and all those happy little letters (A+, Net+, MCP, MSCE, etc...) to put after my name, but still need a degree for some gigs. If they don't see a degree on your resume they won't even review it. that's why I'm carrying 9 credit hours a semester on top of my full time job and other things.
