you can not beat match at all...not even blend tracks...but know what tracks to play at what time and get a party rocking...no BS...
the right/wrong tracks at the right/wrong time can make or break a party![]()

Id still say beat matching, even if your letting the computer to it, it must be tight!
Also the ability to mix and eq well is essential

For me it's Track Selection and a good feel for Timings, especially when playing House tunes with 1+ min intros/outros :P
Definitely track selection, and knowing your tunes inside out.
Oh and not going overboard on fx, if you know your tunes are good, let them play.
@amadeus...ye so true...with all the effects and possible effect combinations in Traktor for example its so easy to go overboard. Better to try and keep them to transitioning from one song to another and for just before big drops and stuff like that
