Good point. I actually think, it's in the 3-500 range.

I thought wikileaks was a bit of fun/sticking a finger up to the government. But when you start releasing stuff that basically prods Iran with a stick, that shit aint gonna fly.
But Wikileaks didn't write the stuff in the cables, and if it's diplomatic cables, you can be sure that the 'prodding' has already been done.
Do you really think the Iranian government will be going 'oh crikey didn't realise the yanks thought so little of us'.

QFT:
I'm having a difficult time following this thread simply because there is a lot of emotion involved...or appears to be and quite understandably.
One thing i'd like to mention, if it has not already, is that state secrets do exist for a reason. Not solely for the purpose of maintaining a passive or complacent citizenry but for integrity in the dynamics of politics and diplomacy. As an outsider looking in, it is often tempting to take a cynical stance when assessing the mechanics of a state out of context. Tid bits often get leaked, by purposeful intent or accident, and quite often by the time it hits traditional channels of communication gets warped into whatever dialogue fits the interest of that particular channel be it NPR, Fox news, MSNBC, Pacifica networks' DemocracyNOW! or the blogosphere. I personally enjoy watching all of these networks and pay a pretty hefty fee for the likes of STRATFOR. I have yet to find any sort of outlet that is not tinged with bias or bought and paid for by either corporate or individual interest--I mean look at all the outlets George Soros controls.
Anyway, this whole wikileaks thing is fascinating and unprecedented. I don't believe Assange is working for the best interest of anything but fame hinged on some vapid ideological pretense that exposing secrets somehow makes people more free.
edit:
and nice quote^^
This is a riot....
From the US State department. Released YESTERDAY
"we are concerned about the determination of some governments to censor and silence individuals, and to restrict the free flow of information. We mark events such as World Press Freedom Day in the context of our enduring commitment to support and expand press freedom and the free flow of information in this digital age."

Fun Fact: Julian Assange was born & grew up in the same town as me
Edit: found an interesting quote from the man himself
Full link - http://www.theaustralian.com.au/in-d...-1225967241332Every time WikiLeaks publishes the truth about abuses committed by US agencies, Australian politicians chant a provably false chorus with the State Department: "You'll risk lives! National security! You'll endanger troops!" Then they say there is nothing of importance in what WikiLeaks publishes. It can't be both. Which is it?
It is neither. WikiLeaks has a four-year publishing history. During that time we have changed whole governments, but not a single person, as far as anyone is aware, has been harmed. But the US, with Australian government connivance, has killed thousands in the past few months alone.
