There is actually one more issue that I experienced with the S4 on Saturday that I wanted to bring up and discuss.
Autogain.
So after exploring the preferences window, I discovered that auto-gain was automatically set as on, as well as a limiter. Great (I think).
While playing up in the booth, I was in the heat of the moment, and had my monitors blasting, so I wasn't paying super close attention to the gain levels (nor could I really hear the difference). I would do a visiual check of my meters each time, and make sure they weren't clipping red. However, several times the resident DJ came into the booth to warn me that my levels were too low. I'd turn them up, and either there is no change in the meter, or it clips. So it's impossible to tell how much you need to turn up the gain, as the last blue LED in the meter will hold blue for a certain range. There is no ability to tell when it may be pushing towards clipping. I'm just wondering why the autogain isn't doing a very good job of balancing volume levels between tracks, and why I need to turn up the gain so very often.
Anyone else have similar experience with the gains? Is it maybe better to de-activate autogain?
limiter was on ? i had turn it off since its act as a compressor and i can manage it manualy. Its pratice my ears as a sound engineer ...but yea sometimes even with limiter off i had to reajust some song ( bad bit rate/quality song i guess )
