I learned this weekend that the alternative dancefloor at parties is not for pussies.

    It was my first time!!

I usually rock the main floor, but was keen to drop some Electro.

Given ....it was a PSYTRANCE party....but the 2nd dancefloor...you can pretty much play anything.....

I was KINDA nervous....as the tunes that were being played was Progressive Trance and I was gonna drop Electro....HOUSE!

    But it was cool!

I banged it like I love to and the dancefloor loved it!

    Super stoked!

Also saw many old faces and was shown a ton of love by my usual fan base!

So I learnt, that just cuz you not the BUZZ at the moment, does not mean you have been forgotten by your peeps!

I learned that when you replace your controller mapping with an new one that you got from someone else, make sure you know what EVERY button does now, before you play. (Or you will wonder why the beats aren't matching anymore, although you took care of that. [Turned out a pitch bend button now resets the pitch. Interesting enough, I prefer to correct the beatmatching with the jogs anyway, so I got no idea why I even pushed that button.)

today I learned that an evo5 can easily deal with half a liter of liquid poured on top of it. I also learned that I need to add the following line to my contracts: motherfuckers spill drinks over my gear, motherfuckers get hurt

If your powered USB hub is not connected to the computer by default the items connected to the hub will not work.

This always gets me with a filter or a freeze delay left on from the last transition on that deck.

"WTF dude I broke your mixer!"

Consequently I've mapped the tilde key to zero out all internal controls. And re-calibrate the timecode. It's my idiot key.

Never rely on post for controllers. im 3 days late on my MPB and 2 weeks late on my DX2. all because 2 ft of snow just randomly appeared all over the country.
EDIT: and my AKG k518's took a week and a half to arrive after using next day delivery.

Today i learned to always triple check which deck you are loading a track in to!!! Even more so when you have been drinking for 3 hours!!! (preferably the one that isnt playing). Noob mistake i know but i did once hear PvD do this a number of years ago so it can happen to the best of us!!

Traktor? You can tell it in preferences to not let your drunk ass load tracks into a playing deck.
