I've been up in the air about getting an Audio Kontrol 1. I going to wait until after the holidays to make my final decision. But i really can't think of a reason not to get it.

Yup, that's what i use for DJing and Production.

It's got balanced 1/4" jack outputs going to my active monitors and then when I want to dj in club with it, I just use these

I love it and can't see a reason to change... it's also got midi in/out... though i never use em

The Audio 4 has neither a Mic input nor any Midi ports.

Its not aimed at Production use at all.

If your saying that you have an Audio 4 and your asking if its good enough as a soundcard then the answer is yes. Its sounds great. Its just not as feature packed as an AK1 or A8.

Probably not intended for production use, but if your tracks remain in the digital domain, and all you need is monitoring, I'd say the Native Instruments interfaces are well suited.

Amen, though if you're keeping production simple, keeping things internal of your DAW with one or two USB MIDI attached sources, you should be save enough.

The Audio 4 DJ is a LOUD and Punchy sort of sound. Good for DJing.
Has quality converters so whether you play club or outdoor festival..or bedroom. It sounds fucking KILLER.

Production Cards are more for even sound. something that is flat without much tweaking on it. You need to be hearing the REAL sound. Not coloured in anyway.

Its the same type of difference for Speakers and Monitors. Monitors sound has a flat response. Where speakers should be loud and punchy....depending on the type.
