Agreed, i'm pumped for that. Proper integration not the current half baked version where neither of them really talks to the other properly.

    Exciting stuff,
but how much is it gonna cost for soundcard/TP3 software?

Will the new software work with the current soundcards?

There resources would be better spent making more stable drivers so that if the usb cable does get yanked during a set you can plug it back in and the sound comes pritty much str8 back on.

Oh yea 99% of laptops have usb 2.0 only about 50% have firewire. So half the people wouldnt be able to use it. Firewire will dissapear over the next 3 years so would be a pritty dumb move.

I beleive firewire is also licenced by appe not sure on this so would put up the cost

The next soundcards from NI the ones after these might be USB 3.0

so i can have a sound card and two x1s without a usb hub. i get what your saying though. just would be pretty sweet for my needs.

a part from everyone with MacBooks mate. all the promotional videos for NI and all professionals seem to use MacBooks, so why not cater there sound cards for MacBooks. just my 2p.

*edit* would be amazing (wishful thinking i know) if they worked both on firewire and usb.

Macbooks only have 2 usb ports? What the fuck man.

Firewire? Hell no. I don't have a firewire ting.

    I dunno about this.

The SL4 has 2 soundcards inside it. Nowhere has it been said that the second USB port can be used for midi controllers on the same laptop as the first USB port.

Like the guy in the video says, its a great idea for club installation but would you personally want to pay $899 for a soundcard..?

Although it might mean i can pick up an SL1 really cheap soon

I think what he meant was that since a macbook has 2 USBs and a firewire, if the soundcard plugged into the firewire you'd still have the 2 USBs free for midi controllers
