Wow, I was just going to buy a djm2000...after seeing this I'm unsure what to get. While the djm2000 is good I'm thinking that these new effects on nexus would be more suited. The price difference will properly only be $400 here in australia. I know the 2000 is technically the better mixer but to be honest, I've watched many Dj Play them and not Once have I seen the Dj make use of the frequency controls for fx, or us the touch pad x fader, would you believe that my home club in Bali has had an svm1000 for the last 3 years and they have been using the 2000 for the last 6 months just because it's new. The su
Svm is just sitting to the side, disconnected. Sometimes I just Touch it, move the faders and pretend I'm mixing with it.

In the case of Serato Scratch Live, there is actually an exclusivity agreement between Rane and Serato, and allegedly both companies are quite happy with their arrangement. Even if the Serato team wanted to work with other mixer companies, they are legally unable to. Now when it comes to Itch, on the other hand, there is no such contract, and so the Serato team is free to work with whosoever they choose, which is why there are several Itch-compatible controllers on the market from multiple manufacturers.
