You cant do dual boot as the disks are different formats, I've a desktop pc running osX
because i'm helping a friend with a macbookpro to develope an iphone app.
BTW the apple logo stickers came free with my osX disc.

When i next upgrade my laptop it'll come bundled with win7 and i wont feel the need to
do the hackintosh dance, it's something else to go wrong with a gigging machine.

I'd be interested in trying OSX on my Sony vaio... Any tips re: hardware drivers when switching from Win7 to OSX? I'd only be using it for audio, so stuff like ethernet/internet/bluetooth etc... won't be needed anyway.

It's impossible to say. You'd need to research you laptop model as each one is different, even same model will need different drivers (called kexts in Mac-world) if any hardware is different.

Took me 2 weeks of working and re-installing OSX about 50 times to get it fully working and stable so you need ot be dedicated to the cause! Knowing a bit about editing plists, kexts etc woud be a help too!
