Orange, purple, etc are values in between
so orange is inbetween low and mids? and purple is between green and blue?

looking at the spectrum one is very confusing and there is no explanation as to how it works in the manual.

i'm using the infrared one because it looks cooler :P (well hotter to be accurate). i've figured out that the darker it is the bassier the sound will be, and white bits = hi hats. i *think* mids are the blend inbetween, but its kind of hard to tell.

i think the main reason for me of the coloured wave forms will be reminding me when a track is about to get 'hot' and EQ'ing down highs or mids to make a new track blend into the current track more easily.

OH COME ON. It's a god damn spectrum.

This is the spectrum of visable light. http://blogs.sun.com/staso/resource/spectrum3.jpg

The spectrum of audible sound goes from high to mid to low.

MAYBE, just maybe, that one end of the colour spectrum is indicating one end of the sound spectrum and as you go progress along the sound spectrum you also progress through the light spectrum?

With the monotoned waveforms it will just be darker means bass or high or whatever and light means the other.

I'm sorry you really should have been able to either use common sense or just listen to your music and go "OH WAIT. when it's bassy it's red. duhh"
