One cool thing is that the "Slice" effect is sort of a sample deck by itself. You can set the length of the sample loop, then using the second knob, either have it be a straight loop or remix within a loop. There isn't a blend between that and the deck, but it is good if you want to do mashups with a loop rolling over the other deck and have crazy variations that are locked in with the other deck's BPM.

also the filter and effects sounding good.
The FX on this thing are great. The Filter is a combo high/lowpass filter, the Flange can get down to crazy modulation times or do really gentle sweeps, the Delay is meaty and Slice.....I could go on for days about the uses. It is a combo sampler/glitch effect. You can grab a loop and then remix the sample within the loop with everything from minor blips to full on re-sequences with reverse, rapid pitch drops, etc.

Oh, I should probably reference that I work for Stanton. Hi!

Thought the name looked familiar also of Skratchworx fame. Guess this is why you haven't been around the Stanton forums, SCS4 project work.

Yup, that is me from Skratchworx. And busy......to say the least. It is all worth it though- SCS.4DJ has been the most rewarding product I have ever managed. The software is solid, comparable to a computer solution and then some. The sync feature stands with the best.

As for SCS.1, the current preset works in T2, though I need to get my hands dirty and do some re-mapping of the TSI so the pitch fader doesn't move with platter movements. Sample Deck and the new FX are later, as for that we need to go in and do some actual firmware/DaRouter programming.

It's nice to see lots of competition for our money. It will hopefully drive innovation and prices. Pioneer should take note that not everyone has 2000$ to spend on just a mixer alone.

so how does it remember a track that's been analyzed previously - does it have internal memory or does it store track info such as bpm and gain levels on the memory stick?

There is a folder created on whatever drive you plug in that stores waveforms. The nice thing about this is that it doesn't mess with your ID3 tags. It also stores a full multi-color waveform in said file.
