Default MPD32 "XL" Pad Upgrade(w/ pictures)

Well I've had my MPD for a few months now and my biggest complaint was the pads were very short and didn't have the greatest feedback, IMO.. After searching around I ordered a set of Red Extra Large Pads(which came with the cork upgrade also) from mpcstuff.com.. They just came in and I have to say, even though the price is pretty high, IMO, the pads are great quality and made my MPD soooo much more responsive and nice to look at if I say so myself..

Enough of my nonsense, heres some pics of my install:

Ehh, for me, I think it was because it made my MPD more enjoyable.. Having no experience with MPC's I can't say anything about them, but as far as my MPD32 was concerned, worth every penny!!

only difference i can see is the XL pads sit around 2x higher then the factory ones. Being as that was my #1 complaint was how low the pads sat..

In the end, it was worth the $50 shipped to my house considering how much more i use my MPD.. You on the other hand might think otherwise..

Do you use that mpd for traktor or what?? how is it?? Im thinking of picking up an mpd18 for controlling traktor with my dvs setup. Really like the big juicy pads.

I actually use it in ableton.. I have thought about using it as maybe a midifighter type style, but have yet to look into it.

Do you use it for production or live performance like DJing with it? I'm considering one for DJing with ableton because I also need some drum pads for production and I can't get two controllers (other option was skipping the mpd and just getting an apc 40 for djing).

Right now I have it setup soley as my drum rack in ableton & reason.. It could very easily be mapped for a live performance setup and then the layer saved so you could switch between a dj/hotcue mapping and the more commonly used drum rack as another mapping..

Personally for the little money I have in the MPD it serves me very well, ESP for the price..
