I'd like to do it the proper way though... Not sure what I could map the pitch faders to... Deck 3 and 4 volume faders?!

This would be good for students like at Qbert Scratch University or a cool function to turn on in Traktor or something. Have achievements for when you complete a task. (You completed the map to a controller achievement). Then your friend can be like, What the hell is mapping and a controller? And then try to get the achievement. Just an example. DJing should be more like playing Halo. LOL.

"proper" is a terrible word to me. If you use jog wheels, you're doing the same exact thing as pitch faders, but getting more resolution (because it's an infinite +1 per set, as opposed to limited to 127 steps). If you were to then step behind two CDJ's, you would beatmatch the same exact way, just with a fader instead of a wheel.

Volume faders work on standard midi as well. No difference between them and pitch faders.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

I know what you mean, but I meant without having to hit sync and that...

Understandable. I recommend that all the time

Give the jog wheel a try for standard pitch control. You can get SUPER fine resolution. Makes life a TON easier

I'm guessing few of you, if any, have ever played Def Jam Rapstar. I haven't either. I have however seen a demo of their community, which I kinda like, and think would be nice for DJ's too.

If you haven't seen it, search youtube for a demo, or check:
    www.defjamrapstar.com

If there were a similar place for DJ's it would be kinda like Soundcloud combined with Facebook on steroids. My idea was:

    • Allow people to make profiles
    • Allow people to challenge eachother to battles
    • Exchange mixes
    • A place for people to upload vids of themselves mixing
    • Allow people to rate eachothers vids
    • Monthly highest rated videos etc
    • Get talent scouts, labels, and promoters to come to the site to find new talent
    • Add a store where people can sell their own music, even without a label
    • Etc.

I have been thinking about this for a while, but I just don't have the skills/resources to make anything like it.

I think it would be a nice addition to add badges and stuff.
