One of the most inspiring things to myself about getting into DJing at all, is shitty DJs.

Technical skills may be up there, but I'm not kidding as I've become more audibly educated, I've noticed more and more DJs when I go out, just plain out suck.

    And that motivates ME.

People all have their own opinions on tune selection. Everyone probably thinks that they are pretty hot shit, you have to have a bit of an ego on that department to even start in this hobby/profession. But honestly, the technical skills will only take someone so far if their tune selection sucks, and like-wise... if your technical skills suck but you are an awesome selector, you still suck.

But at least the later has a chance at practicing and improving. If you suck as a selector, you really can't change that. If you suck technically... well, that's what practice is for.

Technology is a double edged sword. People will always resent change, and some will always embrace it. I say fuck it and if it's good, it's good. I just don't want to see someone throwing in a mix-cd.

I'm not gonna lie, i'm pretty bad and I use a junky toy (mixtrack) but I know i'm better than a lot of other people who get gigs around here (south florida). Some at parties i've been to are god awful and would look at you blank if you asked them what key the song is in they are playing. So whether you suck or not, your connections can get you somewhere :/. I've been told by a shit DJ who basically moves the crossfader from one side to the other that im a bad dj because I've never gotten work.

I have said this time and time again all that matters is whats coming out of the speakers and what the crowd think.

99% Of people dont care weather or not a dj is using a controller/ cdjs or turntables. Heck i personally believe that some people dont even know if a dj is mixing as long as their having a good time.
    I play everything Indie/ Rock/ HipHop/ Cheese/ Electro/ Dubstep and anything that sounds good
