    I used the Gigaport for years. I bought the Audio 2 to have a smaller card. Overall, I think the sound quality is about even....when the cards are balanced to putting out the same volume. The Gigaport uses the -10dBv reference, while the Audio 2 is +4dBu. The Audio 2 will get much louder.

    At this point, I use the Audio 2 exclusively at gigs...the Gigaport is on permanent 5.1 duty on the tower PC.

    Mixing both internally and externally at the same time is retarded and never worth the effort. Traktor is not designed to do it and it's always just a horrible mess.

    What do you mean by 1/2 to master and 3/4 to monitor anyway? Are you saying can you assign outputs 1/2 and 3/4 to the different outputs in traktor? If so, yes... Why couldn't you...?

    I mean not at the same time.
    ESI U46 XL has a headphone output, but you can`t assign a separate channel to this output!

    If you want the option then you need a soundcard with 2 stereo outs (assuming you want to mix only two decks externally). That's it. You can do this with the Audio2, but I'd recommend the Audio4 for it, myself. That way you can route to a mixer if you so choose, OR you can keep it all in the box.

    Why does everyone keep suggesting the audio 4 over the audio 2 for situations that don't involve timecode control? Is there something about them I don't know? :0

    You can mix internally and 2 decks externally perfectly well with either option but one's considerably cheaper.

    @Popinjay: It's true. Audio2 would be fine.

    But why do you prefer the audio 4? I'm not taking the piss or anything, I'm genuinely curious. Is it so you can upgrade to a DVS in the future or make use of the sampler or something?

    Well, that's a part of it. I'm a huge fan of basic expandability. What we want now is not what we're necessarily going to want a year or two from now and not needing to buy all new shit to get there is nice.

    Also, I hate added volume stages. Using the headphone out puts another volume level to contend with to get levels standard as that out has its own volume levels.

    The Audio2 can work, definitely. I just don't think it's as solid or good of an option as the Audio4.

    I posted earlier about looking for a new 2 channel mixer and have decided on the allen & Heath - Xone 22. I have 2 Denon DN-S1200's which I set up as software controllers for Traktor Duo 2. I was wondering if the Audio 2 would be able to give me the proper outputs I need to have each CD player control a deck while also having their own independent channel on the mixer? Currently I am using ASIO4ALL and have a USB hub split up with 3 USB's connected to it and it works fine. Only problem is that my mixer is starting to go to shit and its def time for a new one.

    Thanks for the help.
