Default APC 40 LED rings problems, HELP!!

I've made an (awesome) mapping for my apc40 - apc20 combination.
I'va got the LED rings to work like intended, or so I thought.
I've got good feedback, pan and volume style. Took a while to figure it out, but now its easy.

    Problem comes when using modifiers.
for instance, I've mapped the shift button to modifier one (hold) (I use it like a regular shift, so just modifier1 = 1 or 0)

When modifier 1=0 the track control knobs are the filters for each deck and 4 super knobs.

When modifier 1=1 I can control the master section/record/gains

When I move a knob in any of the modifier states the LED lights change, but when I return to the other modifier state, the lights and thus pot position has changed too. This is a big problem if you change the master out and the filters change too.
This only happens in the hardware, not in the software.

I'm not really new to mapping so I'm sure I'm not messing up modifier states or anything.

and I've got an inverted send monitor state on the modifier button.

    What am I doing wrong??

I know this question has been asked a thousand times, but I just cant figure it out.
I made a little test mapping, four buttons with filter amounts assigned.
On all four buttons a send monitor state inverted.
a knob for filter amount with output
the LED's work with the knob but arent updated when i press the buttons.
but the filter in the software is.

    It's driving me crazy!!

Hi i don't have an apc but i'll asume you will have all the modifer states in each of the the cond boxes (m1=1 or m1=0) for every knob/button you wish to use with the modifer including the outputs. If so try ticking the blend box for each output for the led rings in both modifer states and see if that works.

I have all outputs set with the right modifiers, and they were already on blend, I tried without blend but still the same problem.
The LEDS change no matter what modifier state, and the LEDs seem to change the pot position...
still no fix, but thanks for the input!
    anyone got another idea

Do you have 2 separate outputs for each led ring/button, 1 for M1=0 and the other set for M1=1? Also it would be worth checking out whether the APC changes the note on the hardware when you press the shift button in which case you wouldn't need a modifer to change the rings.

Yep thats how the outputs/modifiers are set.
The notes are the same, only the device control knobs on the apc40 work like a hardwired modifier but with different channels.

    I think I fixed it,
I added a modifier (in my case modifier 8) to the shift button.
    Settings: hold, amount 1

Then I added an output on all knob cc values (the normal, not the +8)
    settins:
    modifier 1 = 0 or 1
    modifier 8=1
    midi range 0 / 1
    ctrl range 0 / 127
    blend on

that seems to work for the ones I tried so far.

Can you post your mapping when your finished? or at least one of the PDF overlays?
