What do you mean there is no sound card? Somewhere in the chain you have to convert the digital information from the computer into an audio signal, don't you? Am I missing something here? What is happening between the software and the tonearm?

Actually I can! Judging by the reaction I got from my non-DJ friends when i first got Traktor Scratch Pro and demonstrated the whole concept of DVS ("whoa... is that magic?!"), i think it would be a great demo!

You can wow them with the whole idea of DVS, then demonstrate how yours is so much better. THEN you say that it's all patented (when they come through). Killer.

i know guys that used to switch needles anyway (including myself on occasion if i knew the needles were shit at the venue), so this is nothing new really from a set-up perspective

But they're the club owner's needles. And they were his father's needles before him. And his grandfather's before that. They've seen it all. They MUST be good!

To be fair my dad also has awesome needles. He was a Hi-Fi nut back in the late 70s and early 80s and he has a Linn Sondek LP12 with some ridiculous cartridge. He scoffs at my ortofons lol.
