In my opinion, 'dance culture' is directly related to 'ecstasy culture' and as a result when ecstasy use is high, so is the attendance at EDM parties. The attendance at some of the parties in our town was so low about 2 years ago due to no drugs, Dubfire refused to play because there werent enough people there and Timmy Stewart had to play all night, but then came Mephedrone, which seemed to revitalise the scene because so many people were on it, and parties were selling out weeks in advance. Just my humble opinion, the culture fluctuates depending on what drugs are available at the time.
Thats true, but we are the humble few! Most people who go to see a DJ will be going because of the drugs also, and if theres no drugs they might as well just sit in and get drunk in the house or go to a club where its a fiver in to see a local DJ as opposed to 20 quid into a big name DJ. the worst is what happened a few years back when ecstacy became very scarce in my town, and ketamine started to take off... even when i go to raves now i spend half my night trying to avoid people hitting K holes... theres what i believe.
Ketamine killed dance culture. everyone blame Ketamine. not MIDI.

It's an age old question people who are scared of change ask when something new comes along which is a threat to them.
In short, no it's not destroying dance culture. What's destroying the culture in narrow minded individuals who think the way it was done in the 70s and 80s is how it should still be done, refusing to accept technology and possibilities move on. The only way to improve and get the best out of things is to push boundaries, which is all technology does.
Ableton 9.7.5, Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate 11, MOTU 828 Mk2, Nektar Impact LX61+, Ableton Push, Native Instruments Kore 2, and a random selection of soft synths and sample libraries.
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with Core i7 4960X Extreme Edition 12 core CPU, 64GB RAM, SanDisk Ultra Extreme SSDs and a GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming GPU.
