i recommend to look for fellow djs in your area and see if you can try the gear out before you buy it.
I have a full midi setup, DVS for 1200's & CDJs. All TBH i prefer to play in DVS, it keeps you busy and make you more versitle in using different types of gear instead of replying on a certain type of controller or software.
When I acquired my first DVS setup (Technics w/ SSL), I had not spun any vinyl for more than a couple minutes. I seriously don't know how one couldn't learn/stand DVS and even vinyl. It really is worth it if you don't move your setup. Cause if you do, it's a real pain to lug around the whole thing.
I'd say avoid if you move a lot.
