I might be doing a bunch of gigs for graduation parties in the next few weeks, and some of them are going to be all ages kind of crowds. What do you guys usually play at events like that? I have no experience with this sort of thing, everything else I've done has been big electro parties.

You really can't plan for a crowd like that. I usually play what I think the majority of the crowd will like, while sprinkling in other genres to keep everyone happy. Take lots of requests.

Well I know I can't plan much, but I have literally no starting playlist, nothing. I just need something to jump off of, you know? I don't know if I'm good enough to totally just go on the seat of my pants, especially since my collection isn't really geared toward this sort of thing.

email the people your doing the grad party for and ask for what deffinately they would like to hear..... i got a HUGE email for the one i did on sat (was supposed to play for 4 === ended up playing for 6)
dont be afraid to ask... plus check out the R&B/Funk charts on beatport.... lotsa good stuff that goes over well with older/younger crowds alike.
