I remember back when I thought stuff like "if you know what your doing....= safe."
Life is unpredictable, so are drugs, and so is the effects of serious heat.
No one is to blame, and no one is a victim. Earth is still a place where it is survival of the fittest, like it or not.
Its a lot safer then doing something you know nothing about.. Goes along the lines of alcohol. Everyone is educated and knows what happens when you drink. Drugs are taboo, therefore you really have to do your own research if your not a partaker in the legal highs the government has to offer. Its a sad but dangerous situation. The age we are in, drugs arent going anywhere. People want to get intoxicated and have a good time, legal or not.

I attended EDC Dallas this year and the news reports about there being "chaos" are way, way over exaggerated. Considering that they shut down the shows early I think everyone handled themselves in a very peaceful manner. As for the reports of people over-heating...well this has to be an error on attendees part as the venue had AC and even in the middle of the crowd for PVD it was hot but in no way dangerously warm. And to boot there was a free water station which I gladly partook of as well as many others. Honestly I can say that I saw some very young faces in the crowd considering that they were checking IDs and the event was listed as 18+ but then again over 20k people attended and some youngins are gonna slip in. And I also witnessed a handful of people that were obviously rolling for the first time or perhaps were dosed a bit larger than they wanted but even then friends were helping watch them and bringing them bottles of water. Overall I say that the Insomniac peeps organized one hell of a show and did their part to make sure everyone was as safe as they could. I am amazed at how much press this issue is getting considering that this is normal for a big music festival. Every year at least one person ends up dead during Bonnaroo and it doesn't seem to become big news.
In Arizona, you can walk up to anybody's house and ask for some water, and legally they have to give you some. They can tell you to use the hose outside, but you can't deny somebody a drink. That's because when it's 110 degrees outside, you can DIE from not drinking.
Dumbass illegals die all the time trying to walk across the desert drinking tequilla or whatever. Pima county has to get refrigerated trucks to hold all the bodies in the summertime... Why is there no fence/wall/moat down there? Anyway...
It is kinda unfair that the EDM scene gets a bad rap for drugs, but don't some of the venues specifically cater to that? Everything about some events is designed for the attendees to get high. Lots of glowsticks, lasers, limited security (who aren't off duty cops), thousands of people to disappear into, kinda facilitates it, no? I read a blog post about starting your own DJ night, and they suggested inviting a friendly drug dealer to make sure people have a good time. That's good advice if you suck at DJing lol.
Just say Know.
