Question Quickest way to record samples on OSX?

    Hey,

I have finally nearly complete my bedroom setup and the latest edition is a Macbook Pro. So I wanted to know what's the best way to quickly record audio to use as samples. So say I'm watching a movie in VLC or a youtube video, how can I hit record in say Logic/Ableton and have the audio be fed straight into it?

I know I could use a video editor and take the audio out. But this is not quick and creativity is lost for me like this.

I have messed around with the Input/Output settings but I can't seem to figure it out.

    Any help is welcome,
    Tobes

I use soundflower for this, route system out to soundflower, and then select that one in ableton as audio in. Free and works wonderfully.

Ahhh this is what I was after. Something to just route audio from OSX into Logic/Ableton.

Now I have the best of both

soundflower is beast!!!! i use it to reroute audio to butt so i can stream up to listen2myradio.com from traktor and various other projects.

on a side not though, soundflower works all the time except when i am streaming the audio like does a weird glitch out after about 10 minutes or so and i have to to go sound flower and reselect Traktor S4 as the audio source on the 16 channel.

any ideas on how i might be able to fix this or maybe another good audio rerouting tool?
