    Default xlr to 1/4 Cable

Do you lose quality with longer lengths?

    Thanks

How long are you talking? If it's really really really long then maybe. As long as it's a balanced cable, which XLR -1/4 TRS should be, you'll be okay.

    +1

Both are balanced as long as the 1/4" is a TRS there shouldn't be a loss in quality (unless the cord is a stupid ass length)

there will be no loss in quality balanced or not, BUT if it's unbalanced on the 1/4 side, you MAY end up with some hum or ambient noise, not much. Unbalanced line should be kept under 10 feets or so.
