You're talking about a powered hub or an unpowered hub?

powered my friend powered. just make sure you are using a firewire 800 external hard disk and also just use one usb solely for either a soundcard or in yours and my case the s4. if you are using the 4d then you can not use jack osx and use your 4d's soundcard to do all your routing

The best option would be buy a thunderbolt -> usbhub adapter (if it exists alredy), plenty of power and bandwidth for every damn DJ gadget

I don't think such a beast exists at this time, however if/when it does come out it won't be cheap. The thunderbolt connector alone costs $50.

I'm guessing that if/when one comes out it cost $100-150

Well that's the problem, having to bring around another piece of gear with more wires and things to plug in. It would be nice to just plug in you laptop and maybe a controller, but it sucks to have to carry around a usb hub with another clunky AC adapter and more wires to get lost, tangled, forgotten, snagged, and unplugged and mess with under stress in a dark booth.

Any comparable spec'd 14"-15" PC has at least 3 usb ports. Apple just couldn't have added a third port (they actually took the thrid port away when they went to unibody, the old ones had it) and had to make 3 usb ports a damn luxury feature of getting a 17" macbook and that's what I'm annoyed with.

it's just one more adaptor, not really a big problem actually. something comparable to a macbook pro specs for pc would be the studio dell xps. anyways the point of this video is to show that a pc laptop can run this set up as well a macbook pro.
