I'll do this from time to time if there's nobody there that knows how to run an S4. Don't really see the harm in it, especially if no one's actively dancing.

When I'm DJing at a party.....I DJ. I've had quite a few nights of raging house parties where I would go 8+ hours, only leaving for 2 minutes at a time to pee, and making it back to mix in the next song. At more laid back parties I'll usually trade off back and forth with a friend or two.
It's a house party bud... not the main floor of Pacha. There is no right or wrong. Lighten up and don't take things to seriously as you aren't reinventing the wheel. It's a house party, and generally, people aren't going to judge. Those that do are probably DJ's as well, and jealous they aren't playing. Besides, at that level, would you really care what some douche thinks? They are, after all, most likely jealous of DJing a get together at a house.
when i arriving to early to a house party i always let one of my mixes do my partnormally house parties start at 10-11pm so sometimes when i´m done with setting everything up it´s just 8-9pm...so yes nothing wrong with it. and remember playing houseparties can be really exhausting when you start mixing at 10pm and end at 6am.
