Default Midi Fighter / Traktor - Effects Mapping - Questions

I'm designing an effects mapping for one of my midi fighters (using the pdf reader template) and would like to know a few things before I start work on it in Traktor.

For my mapping I want to be able to trigger as many combination of effects for any combination of decks at once.

    **
Is there a limit of effects that can be triggered at any one time in Traktor, even though access to more could be mapped on the midi fighter?

    **
Is this limit the total limit, or the limit for each deck (meaning each deck can have it's own maximum amount?

    Thanks for your time,

    JDS1

depends on how u setup your fx units. if you enable all 4 of them and use them in group mode then you have a total of 12 effects divided into 4 groups.

as well as turning the effects on and off you then also have to independently enable each effect unit for each deck, but this is on a per fx unit basis, not per effect within each effect unit.

so if you enable fx unit 1 for deck A, then any effects enabled within fx unit 1 will be processing deck A's audio.

you don't have as much control over the effects in group mode as in single, so you may want to keep at least one fx unit in single mode. all depends on what fx you want to use and how across the decks. often just 2 fx units is plenty...

The limit is the 4 effects decks with 3 in each deck. This doesn't lag on my computer at all, but I am sure on a slow computer it could become an issue. If you want to maximize your mapping, organize your modifiers before hand! You really want to watch this, as sometimes with your own mappings you have to make a bunch of the same assignment to cover multiple modifier states.

You maximize by planning before hand, good luck! You will be happy you took the time.

Thanks for the clarity on this.

It doesn't make sense though that it has such limitations,
although you probably wouldnt typically need too many effects at once.

limitations? you have 4 independant fx units and each can enable/disable up to 3 effects and you can independently route any deck thru any combination of effects units.... that's a lot of possibilities.... if u think u need more than that then u probably need to rethink what u are using effects for.

if u were just using 2 decks then you could even assign two dedicated effects units per deck with the possibility of enabling up to 6 effects independently for each of them. not that you'd ever want as many as 6 on at one time ofc.

Yes, it doesn't make sense that each bank is limited to 3 effects.
You're right though that you probably wouldn't ever need more,
    plus the fact there's a work-around as you've outlined.
I was just commenting on the fact of limiting 3 per bank.

I think you're 2 deck idea would be best.
