quadruple-post FTW?
I'll give it a listen at work.
At least 80% is choosing the right tunes. Most other stuff can be forgiven. This was in 2005....on CDJ's...and a 2 channel mixer. So basic stuff.

I was lucky enough to miss the weather-havoc (on a open air party) just by a matter of 2-3 minutes. There was thick rain/ice and wind blowing ceramic roof-top covers to the ground. Had my laptop, presonus firebox and my mixer on the table. That was a close call.
Many photons have died to bring you this information.
Only horror stories here :
*A friend playing a gig at a club noticed his shit had gone missing not too long before his timeslot. That's an Audio8 + X1 + cables + TC's gone (laptop was somewhere else).
*School party, friends playing electroclashy stuff (this was around 2002), then EPIC SCREECHING SOUNDS, everybody went nuts thinking it was some kind of live "Rolling and scratching" kinda thing. Not so much after ten minutes of the same thing, when it turned out someone had knocked a beer into the (rental) amp.
Celebrity fail :
*a knackered SL1200 RCA forced Steve Bug into messing about with the setup for 20 minutes trying to get calibration while spinning a kickass set. In the end he just used one deck + internal like a boss (X1 controlled). The next guy started with full internal while the tech guys brought up a spare SL1200.
*Crosstown Rebels "Rebel Rave" party in a circus-like venue on a rainy night. Some droplets coming through the so-called roof could be felt here and there on the dancefloor, but nothing serious. At 5 am, somehow the music went KZZZZT. Lazarus just hid under the table while the techs worked their asses off trying to figure out what it was. Somehow the main power bar right next to the CDJs and mixer had gone bust. They replaced it and pulled a tarp over the cabling.
