have a listen to netsky's essential mix, he mixes all sub genres in it, but even on the liquid section he mixes quick and switches to the new bassline in suddenly, to keep the energy going, while blending out the mids, this is a perfect example of how less effects, samples, knob twiddling etc... is more, at least when you know what your mixer is there for and have good track selection..

btw, andy c is so good on vinyl because he pre sync's his vinyl before pressing his copies...

Ive heard of this before, there was no definitive answer though. But he uses Traktor now with some wierd controller ive not seen before. So its easy to sync and mix fast as fook.

have you seen him reach for the pitch fader in a few years? not knocking him. he's the exicutioner based on his track selection, not just fast mixing... never thought he would go midi in a million years though.

well thats the thing, theres been plenty of footage of him doing just that. Theres been no definitive answer from the man himself, that im aware of. So I guess you take it or leave it.

What he has done though is take it to the next level. He's using traktor, a midi mixer & controller to control his new AndyC:Alive project. Where he controls the visuals through midi. A great idea that seems to be working out well for him.

I'm new to mixing, but not to music. My perspective is to learn to create music.
Start with an inexpensive drum machine and sample from it at different bpm.
Once you feel comfortable 'creating' your own, analyzing other artists is a little easier.
As a challenge I now try and re-create the same sound using my various soft and hard synths, then I create my own 'mix' from that.
Once done I can record and play however long I want. If I want to play my own 'version', I can play the whole thing, or try and mix something else in.
Don't be afraid to create your own music.
