Im new to the recording aspect so bare with me. Im running 2x dn-s1200s, xone 22, and traktor pro. I do not have any interfaces such as audio 8 etc. Is there anyway im able to record internally without an external interface?

Can you not still use Traktors internal recorder when mixing externally?

no you can´t since the internal mixer isn´t routed. means you´ll hear both decks at the same time. happens often to me when recording a mixtape and i forget to set recording to external

    It should work.

I had an issue once with my backup laptop and I think it had something to do with the upgrade soundcard. Spent hours on the phone with HP, and never really figured it out. You can always try plugging it into another laptop, or recording device.

It works except that he meant "line input" instead of "mic input."

    ^this

Mic input is amplified, so if you record with it, the sound will just be unlistenable, too loud and distorded.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but on "classic" soundcards, line input is blue right ?

Anyway, be sure to check the volume that goes out of the record output on your xone, I don't know if the master volume knobs has an effect on it or not with A&H mixers, but that would be a shame to record a 2h set and then it's too low. Ok you can add some gain later with programs such as audacity, but i wouldn't bet it doesn't decrease the file quality

Get a RCA (mixer rec out) - 3.5mm jack cable (microphone line-in), get audacity and make sure you change the preferences to built-in line input. I have the same mixer. And the master volume knob does not have any effect. I usually record with just headphones on and master volume knob is completely killed.
