Yeah I'm easily in the old group Hoodless and pitch faders are the number one thing I miss Mostapha even though I'm 100% sync.

I still think Sync will dominate in some form in the future. We're at the same point now that digital photography was at when noobs with expensive cameras were taking well paid jobs from pros because they would work for a fraction of the cost. It didn't take long for photography directors to realize that there's no substitute for talent no matter how easy it looks.

    ^^^^^ This is spot on!
I have pro photographer mates who take great sport out of finding on line portfolios of the clueless & talentless, then taking them apart

The thing is that Program Shift and auto exposure in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing is very different both from a n00b with a camera and from Sync.

Exposure is directly related to artistic choices (as well as everything else you can do with a camera while taking a picture). There is no right or wrong, just right for your intentions or not and whether your intentions sucked or not.

Sync/Beatmatching is right or wrong. Pretty objectively.

But if you ignore that technicality and just focus on how much faster and easier is is to say "okay, 2 stops darker…need more depth of field, so…click or two…done." than to read a light meter (or guess based on experience) and then make the exact same decisions……yeah. Perfectly valid.

And I'm with you. (I'm an amateur photographer, but I don't completely suck)

Also, search flicker for "nice dof, bro"

The pics are hilarious. The only reason I don't think that pictures of barely-in-focus weeds with meh-looking bokeh behind them are more atrocious than lousy DJ sets are that the pictures take a lot less attention and time before you can either move on or start having fun making fun of them. With a DJ set, you at least have to wait until they touch some effects controls.
