No problemo sir. But make sure you read the bottom of the post again. I edited the comments. You shouldn't REALLY be using the mic port as the line in. Do some research and find out if your computer can use the headphone jack as a line in (You can do this on a Macbook, but not sure about your computer good sir). If you use the mic port, use it carefully! You have been warned!!

    Good night and have fun.
    Cheers!

Always find and read the full product spec before buying one tbh.

this question pops up so often, some of the mods should just link to this thread to the recommended reading or whatever sticky so it can be easily linked to.

I though the Nox has the USB as a 2/2 sound card which you could use in audacity as the recording device rather than pesky RCA's and computer sound card ?

I also just got the Nox404 (my first mixer). This is all new terrain for me, but I need to get things up and running ASAP.

I'm trying to connect the mixer via USB to my mac book. I'm running Traktor 1.2.4. What am I missing? The review I watched from DJ Booth led me to believe that mapping would be easy, and that I'd be set without an external sound card for this mixer.

Any help about configuring the mixer with Trakor 1.2, or advice about components that I'm lacking would be greatly appreciated!

    1. A Soundcard
    2. Midi Controller

Its a nice mixer with midi CLOCK output (only) and USB audio channel for playback and recording to the mixer

It doesn't have enough USB channels to be used for Traktor and far as i know the playback is though a single dedicated channel (someone correct me if I'm wrong?)

    It does.

    EDIT TO ANSWER MORE...

Guys, the Nox mixers have a built in 2 in / 2 out audio interface. That's a single stereo channel.

It's not in there to enable DVS functionality.

It wouldn't be available for that in SSL or Traktor anyway because those software packages lock DVS functionality to their own (or approved) interfaces. What that audio interface in the Nox mixers is good for is either to bring an app like Live or iTunes into your mixer, or to record out to a computer.

Specifically, on the Nox 404, there is nothing to map. The 404 DOES NOT HAVE MIDI.

    thanks for the advice.

To resolve the issue I upgraded to Traktor Pro 2.0 and bought the Traktor Audio 2 soundcard from Native Instruments. Everything works and sounds great now.

I have to use my mic input, but I found out how to make it come out crystal clear anyway, so all is good!
