This will fail.

- somebody said the average singing spot in x-factor is 5 minutes. It isn't. It's about 90 seconds. The only thing you can demonstrate in 90 seconds is cue-point juggling and FX. I'm starting to get a migraine thinking about it

- x-factor at least has people singing. Singing, apparently, moves stupid people (the x-factor audience) to tears. DJing will not do this. The audience will miss out on their weekly chance to have a bit of a cry and feel better about themselves

- people don't really understand DJing. They won't be able to tell the difference between playing a mashup with minimal DJ interaction, and DJs getting busy and mashing things up themselves. Consequently they will be given 2 top40 songs to mix and won't be allowed to use anything else. The audience will hate it because it is repetitive and boring. DJs will hate it because the music is awful

- the only thing that might save it (as a spectacle) is the fact you'd have to be unlikeably egotistical or naively delusional to want to go on it. The unlikeably egotistical will make good car crash viewing. The naively delusional will play obscure music that the audience and the judges can sneer at

What's the winner going to get? A residency at the Roxy?

LOL at all the people on here that are upset over this. Who cares honestly. I doubt that any of you will be effected by this show.

With that said, I am serious about looking into trying out for this show.
