Stutter/gater effect vst's

Im havin a hard time getting the effects i want out of the ableton tools. beat repeat, gater,

Are there any free vst's that are similar to stutter edit or abletons stuff that are easier to use?

For a simple gate, drop AutoPan on a channel and set the Phase to 0, Then play with Amount/Rate, choose a wave type turn the Shape knob to smoothen the edges to fit what you are after. Press the Hz button if you want a beat independent gate.

if you want more controller friendly effects instajungle or supatrigger are essential free vst's

instajungle is a roll effect that has four size sliders, pitch and reverse, the one weakness is it cant to odd sized rolls like 3/4.

supatrigga is more like the ableton beatrepeat, it is a stutter effect that can randomly jump around a roll for some pretty wicked effects. Also bouncing ball delay by the same designer can do some pretty crazy stutter effects kind of like aphex twin makes
