Obviously I'd want it working ;P

On paper it ticks every box though- why do soundcards all have their shit controlled by software these days? You any idea how annoying that is for someone like me using linux..?

Of course you can capture that "golden age" feeling by not quantizing anything and only owning (using) 1 synth plugin.

I'm not convinced quantization matters that much. First…apparently that's another one of the "do nothing" things that I somehow get wrong…I end up having to quantize everything manually. So, I just don't. I either play parts or use a step sequencer. Second…the drum machines of old used step sequencers.

And I've only been using one synth plugin for a few weeks. That part is nice…but it's still BS. I hate mice. And having to tweak synths with a mouse means that–for the most part–I just don't. Occasionally, I try to get something specific, but I revert to all presets within an hour or so because I just can't stand to play with a mouse any longer.

There might be ways around that, though…and they might be cheaper than going all hardware. But if music becomes a career, that's going to happen anyway.

That video was fixed. They didn't sound that bad…but they were pretty shitty decks. If they were cheap enough, I'd buy a pair (read: $250 for the pair) just because they look awesome.

The only thing I liked about mine was that it was firewire. Man…I hate USB. It's fucking pointless to have audio interfaces that don't like hubs work on a port that is only usable with hubs. I really should have bought an Audiofire2 isntead of my 2i2…it'd make everything simpler. Unfortunately, actually having a volume knob won out. Too bad…I'm going to buy a Big Knob anyway……

But seriously, do you want my scratch amp? I'll mail it to you for shipping costs…the mic pre is f'd up and it's been sitting next to my trash can for a few months. I'm very close to chucking it at someone I don't like.

The reason I would like it to be USB is that laptops just don't seem to have firewire. There's a ton of perfectly good interfaces I can't use. A better solution would be laptops with firewire ports I guess... But then again I don't believe firewire cards are supported by ALSA which could lead to bigger headaches trying to get it to work with xwax.

If I had a laptop with a firewire port and lived in the same continent as you I would probably take you up on that offer, thanks dude.
