i.e: if you have the 5.1 disc you can just rip the audio. or if you have the audio cd etc.

basically they're saying "bootleg remixes ok"

Nephew, No doubt you can bootleg it. I wasn't complaining about needing to pay out 4 bucks. I was commenting on the direction the industry is moving into. I'm not sure how I feel about the growing trend of charging for remix kits/stems. Their simple availability is really cool. But I think it's giving the finger to the uber fans and disc jockeys who play your music. I think its kind of a cheap way to make a bit of extra cash on your single.

I understand what you're saying and I agree, it is a lame way to make extra cash. Plus you don't even get to retain the rights of the track to boot!

Just imagine what's going to happen if MT9 gets adopted as the new standard

I have six bux left over on my acct on beat, if you want the stems be my guest. I dont share tracks that I purchase.

thats right Nephew im not a Big Name DJ, and I probably will never make the it on www.thedjlist.com but it doesnt bother me at all.

I love helping other dj's out here on djtt and here in l.a. but asking for the stems is not right. Hope everything is still cool.

Charging for the stems to remix a track that they have offered to be remixed.
    What a crock of shit.

How much are they gonna make on this? Not much i dont suppose so why bother?
Its not like they need the money and the Comp itself is good promotion.

Beatport can kiss my ass and Depeche Mode need to be spoken to. JesC get it sorted.

oh and sharing the stems is a stupid idea. Id rather not take part than steal the bits .
I agree with Monika this is a bad direction. If you want people to have a go with your music then let them do it for free , its not like the band loses revenue or like the bloke that remixes makes any money .
